Yes. Cancelling is free until the shoveler is on the way. After that a cancellation fee may apply. The full cancellation policy is shown in the app before you place a request.
You can follow every step in the app: open, on the way, arrived, finished and done. When the shoveler finishes, they add photos of the cleared areas, so you can check the work even if you're not home.

Shovler serves the U.S. and Canada. It's a community marketplace, so how fast you're matched depends on how many shovelers are active near you. See our service areas, or download the app to post a job at your address.
The app, your own gear (usually a shovel or a snow blower) and a Stripe account for payouts, which you can set up from the app. Signing up is free. Go on duty to see open jobs near you: within 10 miles by default, or 20 miles with Premium.
Through Stripe. Once a job is settled (after the customer rates it, or automatically 12 hours after completion), your earnings are sent to your connected Stripe account. Shovler keeps an admin fee from each job, from 30% of the job price (20% for Premium shovelers), and card processing fees are deducted. Tips go to you, minus their card processing. The app's Wallet shows what you earned on each job.
